Swing States Get Prime Spots on the RNC Convention Floor Except One
Convention to Be Held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Chicago to Host DNC Convention in August
As the 2024 Republican National Convention approaches, swing states are being given prime spots on the convention floor, with one notable exception: Wisconsin. The convention will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from July 15 through 18, and will be the first major political event to take place in the state since the assassination attempt on former President George W. Bush.
The Republican National Committee (RNC) has allocated 15% of the convention floor space to swing states, including Florida, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. Wisconsin, however, has been given only 5% of the floor space, despite being a critical swing state in the 2020 election. The RNC has not provided an explanation for this discrepancy.
The Democratic National Convention (DNC) will be held in Chicago, Illinois, from August 19 to 22. The DNC has allocated 20% of the convention floor space to swing states, including Wisconsin.
